Raphael Hello! I'm the Seraph Raphael, and I thought it would be fun to write my own introduction.
I'm one of the seven Archangels of the Presence, along with Gabriel and Remiel, and my name means "God Has Healed." My divine gifts are in the realm of health, but somehow I also ended up with travel, transportation, and children under my dominion. It keeps me busy, but it's a lot of fun, particularly the odd times when I can assist in delivering a baby on the New York City subway system.
Although Israfel is the angel of music, I'm a musician too. Sometimes it's fun to unwind while playing guitar or starting an impromptu sing-along with the other angels.
I've got primary bonds to three Cherubim: Gabriel, Ophaniel and Sidriel. I know Cherubim can be off-putting because they're so logical, but I love hearing their insights (although every so often they'll surprise you by how unimpassioned they can be about something completely obvious!)
I've had a lot of incredible experiences, and God has allowed me to take on a lot of very special jobs, like stirring up the waters at the Pool of Siloam...but by far the most incredible assignment He gave me was to be a guardian angel: to Jesus. Every so often I still think about that and am in shock that He entrusted such an important job to me.
In this novel, things really get put to the test between me and Gabriel. He's my closest friend, and when Satan strikes at him, it's the worst loss I could possibly imagine. A universe without Gabriel in it would be like a bell without a clapper. It's too empty to contemplate--I'm not sure I would ever laugh again.
